That broadcast, of course, is the one that sparked uproar among 60 Minutes staff after new MAGA-curious editor-in-chief Bari Weiss made an eleventh-hour call to pull a segment on the El Salvador megaprison that held Venezuelan men deported by President Donald Trump.
A 60 Minutes segment that CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss spiked is now available for viewing. The video, which is available on iCloud, was also posted on YouTube by Phil Lewis of HuffPost and was embedded above, but it has since been “removed by the user.” It was also available on the Global TV app before being taken down.
Sharyn Alfonsi, a “60 Minutes” correspondent, criticized the network’s decision to remove her reporting from Sunday’s edition of the show.
Weiss, the controversial new editor-in-chief of CBS News, brought the credibility of the network’s flagship program into question after pulling a segment that detailed the grisly conditions at an El Salvador megaprison where Venezuelan men deported by Donald Trump were held.
