Mountain Bay snowmobile trail opened Dec. 13 from County Highway J east into Shawano County. Other Marathon County trails remain closed.

WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) — Wausau and Marathon County Parks, Recreation, and Forestry has announced that the portion of the Mountain Bay Snowmobile trail, which opened earlier this month. Officials say the trail will close at midnight Sunday, eight days after it opened. The move will leave no open snowmobile trails in Marathon County.

MARATHON COUNTY, Wis. (WSAW) - The Mountain Bay Trail will close to snowmobile traffic starting Sunday, December 21, at midnight. Marathon County Parks, Recreation & Forestry states no other trails will be open until further notice.
