During her time in the U.S. Navy, La Wanda started misusing substances. After returning home, her substance misuse worsened until someone gave her an ultimatum to seek help. She joined a 12-step recovery program and now helps Veterans in recovery through community service and by serving on a drug court team. Listen to La Wanda’s story.
